Per chiedere: What's the weather like? Per rispondere serve sempre it: It's sunny, It's raining, It's cold (“fa freddo”, senza “fare”).
| Italiano | Inglese | Non dire |
|---|---|---|
| Che tempo fa? | What's the weather like? | How is the time? |
| Fa caldo / freddo. | It's hot / cold. | It makes hot. |
| Piove. | It's raining. | Is raining. |
| C'è il sole. | It's sunny. | There is the sun. |
| C'è vento. | It's windy. | There is wind. (possibile ma meno naturale) |
| È nuvoloso. | It's cloudy. | – |
| Che bella giornata! | What a lovely day! | What a beautiful weather! |
It è obbligatorio, perché in inglese ogni frase vuole un soggetto (vedi verbo to be). E “tempo” come durata è time, come meteo weather: I don't have time / The weather is nice.

What's the weather like? (che tempo fa?) oppure How's the weather? Per il futuro: What's the weather going to be like tomorrow? Si risponde con It's…: It's sunny, It's raining.
Come si dice “piove” in inglese?
It's raining (sta piovendo) o It rains (piove, in generale). In inglese serve sempre il soggetto it: “piove” non è “is raining”.
è What terrible weather!
Si pronunciano allo stesso modo, ma weather è il tempo atmosferico e whether significa “se” (I don't know whether he's coming).
